Are the groups coed? Yes. We believe that coed groups enhance children's social learning.
How many campers are in each group? We usually have12-18 campers per group. The required child/staff ration by the Rockland County Health Department is 1:12.
How many counselors are with each group? There are always two counselors with each group. Often, a 'CIT', volunteer, or one of our activity leaders is a third counselor supporting the two permanent counselors, especially on swim and trip days.
Is there a family visiting day? No. Families are welcome to visit The Summer Spot Day Camp anytime.
Can I take a tour of camp prior to enrolling? Yes. You can either attend one of our open houses or contact us to schedule an appointment for a personal tour.
Do you provide transportation? Yes. We offer centralized public location bus pickups. Please contact us for further information.
Do campers bring their own lunch? Yes. While at camp, all of the lunches are kept in our refrigerators and in coolers with ice packs on trip and swim days.
Do you provide snacks? Yes. Every day, our campers enjoy 100% juice, a healthy snack and ices!
Is there trained medical personnel on site? Yes. As required by the Rockland County Department of Health, we have an off-site Camp Health Director and two on-site designees who are fully certified in cpr and first aid.
